The London Thames Gateway is an area represented by 11 local authorities on both sides of the river in East London, by eight local universities, the local Learning and Skills Council and the Strategic Health Authority. It is critical to keeping London going and growing, because it is the only part of the capital able to sustain the massive scale of growth in jobs and housing required.
