It’s been a busy week for Identity with exhibition stands being built at Earls Court, London ExCel and Berlin.
The Forbo Flooring stand shown here was built over three days at London Excel for the Ecobuild 2011 event. Ecobuild is the UK’s largest exhibition which focuses on ecologically friendly design, construction and the built environment. Over 1,300 exhibitors attended to showcase their latest developments, launch new products and to broker new business deals.

Forbo Flooring were launching many new products at the show and briefed Identity to design a stand which would showcase them whilst educating visitors about Forbo’s industry leading carbon friendly production and recycling initiatives.
The stand was constructed using ecologically sourced materials and designed so that its displays could be used individually at future trade shows and consumer events as well as Forbo’s London showroom and offices.

The stand provided Forbo with a great platform from which to do business at the show and proved very popular with the public especially the Bonsai tree display designed to communicate the bio-degrable nature of their linoleum product.

The Identity men start their second week of Movember…

For those of you that do not know what it is, Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days. The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.

Although most the guys are getting grief from their other halves and siblings they are staying strong and committed to the almighty Mo!

Above are some great pictures of the Gilbarco Veeder-Root stand we built at the Automechanika show in Frankfurt, Germany last month.
Our client Gilbarco Veeder-Root is a global supplier of fuel dispensing equipment so the large 200m² stand had to look fantastic at this high profile show and work effectively to showcase their range of petrol forecourt products.

The main elements of the stand were a large hospitality area, formal meeting room, informal meet and greet areas and extensive product demonstration areas with full size product displays.

One of the main design criteria was that the stand should allow visitors to “flow around the stand” to enable them to see and interact with as many of the products as possible. We achieved this by incorporating raised areas for product displays and using feature floor coverings to encourage foot traffic along the desired routes.

The stand created a great presence at this key event in the exhibitions industry calendar which is attended by around 300 exhibitors including destinations, venues and event service suppliers.

When the world’s most powerful men and women descended on the recent G20 summit meeting, not many people knew that the sets and staging in the media photographs and television coverage were the work of Eastbourne company, Identity Live Communications.

Working in conjunction with Cottimore Design Consultancy, Identity was asked to design and build the main conference set that President Obama, Prime Minister Gordon Brown and other global leaders spoke from.

Identity Director, Michael Gietzen, said:

“We worked through the night to meet the deadlines, but it was all worth it when we had the opportunity to stand within a few feet of President Obama and watch his presentation and then see the whole thing repeated again and again on worldwide television. We received a number of accolades after the event and

even praise from The President.”

President Obama commented that the G20 was ‘an extremely well organised and effectively run event’ and the Prime Minister, said it was ‘a superbly run summit that not only met but exceeded expectation.’

Michael added:

“Many Eastbourne people know us for the graphics and design we supply locally, so I’m sure it will come as a surprise when they know we’ve been rubbing shoulders with the world’s most powerful man!”
